plusmeta 5.2

New

  • Automatic renaming of source files in export
    • Renaming documents in plusmeta is now possible fully automatically.
    • A metadata is configured for this. This can be composed of other metadata and also inherit metadata from digital twins that are linked to the document.
    • The source file is renamed in the export according to the value of this metadata.
    • The function also works for documents that are linked to several digital twins. If VDI 2770 packages are generated according to the digital twins, the renaming metadata is specifically updated in the export for each digital twin and the associated source file is renamed.
    • Please contact your project manager if you would like to use this function.
  • Extraction of technical data with variable units of measurement
    • There are several possible units of measurement for many technical data. Thanks to the new function, plusmeta can now recognise this technical data with variable units of measurement and extract it as metadata.
    • Several units of measurement can now be stored in plusmeta for a physical quantity. This physical quantity is then assigned to the metadata.
    • For example, values in ‘mm’, ‘cm’ or ‘m’ can be found for the metadatum / physical quantity ‘length’.
    • This means that the automatic recognition of such technical data is now possible, particularly via dynamic extractors and auto-extractors.
  • Mass export of documents from projects
    • It is now possible to download all objects (documents) of one or more projects in one action.
    • A directory structure can be specified on the basis of metadata. The documents from the projects are sorted into the directory structure according to the metadata.
    • The source files of the objects can also be renamed in the export from the project view using a configured metadata.
  • Optimised rule-based recognition
    • Foreign-language labels can now be analysed differently in rule-based recognition.
    • This is to prevent metadata with similar multilingual labels from receiving a disproportionate number of points in metadata recognition.
  • Configuration options in plusmeta Insights
    • With plusmeta Insights you can chat with your project documents and metadata.
    • A new configuration object for Insights enables versatile configuration options for the function.
    • Among other things, the configuration object can be used to set which LLM is to be used (e.g. Claude, Chat GPT, Llama 3 etc.).
    • In addition, the rule-based metadata recognition on the text of the prompt can be fine-tuned. This ensures that keywords and extracts from the plusmeta Knowledge Graph are made available to the LLM in order to provide more precise answers.
    • As a further example, it is possible to configure the extent to which the chunks within the prompt should be given more context.
    • Please contact your project manager if you would like to use this function.
  • Optimised automatic linking of objects
    • The logic behind the automatic linking of objects is now configurable.
    • Regular expressions can be used to specify when two documents with a specific prefix or suffix should be linked.
    • Automatic linking is only carried out if the project setting is activated.
  • Optimisations of the OCR function
    • Character recognition now indicates the estimated processing time for each document.
    • It is now configurable on which pages or page areas the character recognition is applied. This means that drawing headers, for example, can also be specifically read with OCR.

Other

  • Segmentation can now be configured so that segment boundaries only occur at page boundaries.
  • Write-protected PDFs are now labelled in the plusmeta interface
  • The LLM ‘Llama 3’ has been added to plusmeta.
  • plusmeta now supports more date formats.
  • Original files from the PDF/A conversion no longer end up in a directory in the VDI 2770 export, but are now given the prefix ‘original_’.
  • There are new export functions in the similarity analysis, such as the filtered export and the JSON format.
  • The recognition of PDF/A conformity has been improved.

Bug

  • When the page is reloaded in the browser, the character recognition is no longer restarted completely.
  • Microsoft Help Viewer 2.0 packages are generated correctly again.
  • A performance problem caused by Chinese characters has been fixed.
  • Some errors in plusmeta Insights have been fixed.
  • An error in LLM data extraction has been fixed where the response was incorrectly output as a JSON structure.

plusmeta 5.1

New

  • plusmeta Insights
    • plusmeta Insights offers a chat interface that allows you to easily talk to your data.
    • In projects, start plusmeta Insights via the button. If you want to chat with individual documents, you will find the dialog starter in the object’s More menu.
    • plusmeta Insights combines the intelligence of Large Language Models with your content and the knowledge from your Knowledge Graph in plusmeta. This means that even highly product-specific questions are answered precisely.
    • Thanks to the sophisticated RAG architecture, the answers are based exclusively on knowledge from the project and document content and the knowledge graph. The explicit exclusion of other world knowledge prevents the chatbot from “hallucinating”.
    • The function is available in the new pricing model and can be booked as a plug-in for existing customers. If you are interested, simply speak to your customer advisor.
  • LLM-based metadata allocation
    • Based on LLMs, deep learning-based classification is now possible without training. For example, definitions of the properties to be assigned or their indicators can suffice as references. In addition, new possibilities are added, such as the generation of summaries or the extraction of information in list form, e.g. for spare parts, components, tools, etc.
    • With plusmeta’s LLM-based metadata assignment, you can automate the use of LLM. The appropriate prompt templates can be stored in configuration objects for metadata.
    • In the configuration object, you also specify which Large Language Model is used to process the prompt. In addition to the Claude and Llama2 or Llama3 models hosted by plusmeta itself, ChatGPT can also be integrated.
    • The function is available in the new price model and can be booked as a plug-in for existing customers. If you are interested, simply speak to your customer advisor.
  • Additional LLM functions for greater efficiency
    • Additional LLM functions ensure efficient workflows in plusmeta.
    • Rule-based AI methods in plusmeta work with a large number of languages if corresponding foreign language labels are available. Missing translations can now be provided by a new LLM-supported function. All you need to do is click on the button in the Edit property dialogue.
    • With the help of indicators, plusmeta can also assign metadata even if it is not explicitly mentioned in the text. In addition to manual and text-based indicator input, you can now also automatically add indicators using the button. The function is available in all views in which indicators can be edited, e.g. in the Metadata dialog or in the Edit property dialog.
    • The functions are available in the new pricing model and can be booked as a plug-in for existing customers. If you are interested, simply speak to your customer advisor.

  • Advanced functions in the interface to SAP BNAC
    • The interface to SAP BNAC has been improved with additional functions.
    • plusmeta now prevents documents from being uploaded twice to SAP BNAC by recognising duplicates.
    • A progress log ensures accurate logging during the upload. A progress indicator continuously displays the status. Failed uploads are immediately recognisable by corresponding error messages.
    • The performance of document uploads has been significantly improved so that even several hundred objects can be processed without long waiting times.

Other

  • The performance of metadata detection (especially in connection with the display of the heatmap) has been significantly improved.
  • Images are now also taken into account when generating iiRDS packages.
  • Objects from other projects can now be copied. Previously, only a referenced reuse was possible.
  • PDF/A conversion for VDI 2770 documentation containers no longer requires the file name to be changed. Since the original files are saved in a subfolder.
  • ZIP files are now generated on the server side. This significantly improves performance.

Bug

  • The ST4 AI Jetpack now detects product variants containing dots or colons again.
  • A display error with overflowing text in the “Detect metadata” workflow step has been fixed.

plusmeta 5.0

New

  • Generation of VDI 2770 packages based on digital twins
    • In the “Create VDI 2770 package” workflow, the VDI 2770 packages can now also be generated on the basis of digital twins.
    • To do this, digital twins must be created in the project, for example via an Excel import that defines the digital twins. A digital twin must exist for each instance for which a VDI 2770 container is to be delivered.
    • In this case, there is a clear separation between instance-related (product-related) and document-related metadata in plusmeta.
    • The instance-related metadata describes the product, component or system and is specified directly on the digital twin. Examples include the serial number, AutoID (in accordance with IEC 61406), product type, manufacturer, etc.
    • The document-related metadata is specified on the document. Examples of this are the document language, document type, summary, etc. The documents are then assigned to the digital twins via an object relationship.
    • A VDI 2770 container is generated for each digital twin.
    • A document can also be assigned to several digital twins. When the VDI 2770 packages are generated, these documents are then multiplied and packed into all VDI 2770 containers whose digital twins they are assigned to.
  • Generation of nested VDI 2770 containers in one project
    • By using digital twins in the “Create VDI 2770 package” workflow, nested VDI 2770 containers can now be created directly in plusmeta.
    • Several VDI 2770 containers can be created within one project, nested to any depth.
    • The nesting is created by the hierarchical arrangement of digital twins. Digital twins are linked to each other via an object relationship.
    • The hierarchical assignment of the digital twins can be defined directly via an Excel import.
  • Automatic suggestions for indicators
    • Indicators for metadata values can now be added automatically in the “Assign and approve metadata” workflow step.
    • At the push of a button, the indicators displayed in the metadata manager are supplemented with further indicators from the text. The automatically added indicators are initially highlighted in blue to distinguish them from the gray existing indicators and the green manually added indicators.
    • This function can also be configured. Please contact your plusmeta project manager if you are interested in this function.
  • Addition of context functions to the “Rule-based” & “Auto-extractor” methods
    • The application of a method to a limited context can enable reliable extraction in the first place or improve predictions.
    • For this purpose, additional parameters have been added to the configuration objects “Automatic extractor” and “Rule-based prediction”, which enable the specification of a context for the extraction method.
    • It is possible to determine which elements of a property are included as variables in the context, which regex flags are applied to the context or which character strings enclose the context.
    • This function must be configured. Please contact your plusmeta project manager if you are interested in the function.
  • Extended functionalities for similarity analysis
    • Metadata can now be assigned directly to comparison pairs in the “Analyze similarity” workflow.
    • The metadata group “Similarity analysis metadata” has been added for this purpose. Metadata belonging to this group is displayed on the comparison pairs in the “Clean-up data” workflow step.
    • Using the metadata, for example, comments can be written on comparison pairs or clean-up procedures can be selected from a list.
    • All assigned metadata is also contained in the export formats of the workflow “Analyze similarity”.
  • Improvements for the interface to Quanos InfoTwin
    • With every workflow run, the product taxonomies are automatically retrieved from Quanos InfoTwin and imported into plusmeta.
    • This means that the latest data is always available.
  • More useful information in the Metadata Manager
    • More information has been added to the metadata manager in the “Assign and approve metadata” workflow step.
    • The following information is now visible in the metadata manager: Data type, Recommended or required metadata, Identifier, Associated relation type, Description
    • The data type and the recommendation or requirement of metadata are displayed directly in the metadata manager. Further information can be expanded with a click.
    • Please note that only existing information on the property can also be displayed in the metadata manager.

Other

  • Directories in the “Check and assign metadata” workflow step have been fundamentally revised and can now be defined configuratively and thus generated automatically. The filter functionality through directories (what is displayed when you click on an entry in the directory) can also be configured.
  • Metadata can now be assigned to digital twins in plusmeta via the fallback function and via metadata defaults.
  • In the metadata preview in the “Assign and approve metadata” workflow step, the data type of the metadata can now also be recognized by an icon.

Bug

  • An error in the rights configuration relating to the filtering of properties has been fixed. This avoids filters that cannot be deactivated with your own rights configuration.
  • A problem with the visualization of extracted text passages in the AI explanation has been fixed. The marked text passage now always corresponds to the extracted text passage.
  • VDI 2770 generation: A formatting problem in the main document with several assigned document categories has been fixed.
  • Fixed an error when uploading your own logos for the plusmeta interface with branding.
  • Fixed an error when automatically fragmenting HTML files.

  • Excel import for digital twins and product hierarchies
    • Digital twins or product instances (object type “Digital Twin” plus:ProductInstance) can now be created directly in a project via Excel.
    • For each digital twin that is to be created in plusmeta, there must be a row in Excel that contains data on the digital twin.
    • Hierarchical relationships between digital twins can also be imported via Excel to create a hierarchical product structure in plusmeta.
    • It is also possible to add metadata to objects of the “digital twin” object type via Excel.
    • Digital twins can be used in plusmeta to describe product instances with metadata. They can then be assigned to documents via a relationship.
    • Digital twins can also be assigned to documents via Excel.
    • The function must be actively configured in each plusmeta instance. Please contact your plusmeta project manager if you are interested in this function.
  • Improvements for creating new properties
    • In the properties view, several system roles can now be selected directly for the property in the drop-down menu when manually creating new properties.
    • This enables, for example, the direct creation of metadata classes whose values are arranged hierarchically, or the direct creation of special VDI 2770 metadata types.
  • Improved performance for metadata assignment
    • Performance has been significantly improved when assigning metadata with many metadata values, especially in combination with many indicators.
  • New features for the assignment of configuration objects
    • The relationship “uses configuration” plus:uses-configuration, which is used for the assignment of configuration objects to properties, now has its own data type “configuration relationship” plus:ConfigRelation. This makes the type of assignment clearer.
    • In addition to configuration objects in the object view in plusmeta, configuration templates can now also be used. If configuration templates are assigned, they now have their own icon.
    • In the Knowledge Graph, the assigned configuration objects are now displayed with a cogwheel symbol.

plusmeta 3.1

New

  • Improved performance with many objects.
    • Thanks to a stronger cloud infrastructure, the plusmeta platform is now even faster. 🚀
    • Especially views with many objects benefit from the new features (e.g. main view objects, object selection dialog, projects).
  • Interpretable AI results.
    • A trace view can now be displayed for each prediction candidate in the Metadata Heatmap in the Assign Metadata workflow step.
    • The trace view can be opened during rule-based assignment in the prediction dialog via the button.
    • In the trace all triggers for AI evaluations are displayed with location, found value and blur value. This allows some results to be better interpreted.
  • Advanced iiRDS functionalities.
    • The iiRDS export is now configurable for own classes and relations defined as iiRDS extension. A configuration object can be created for this purpose.
    • Content from iiRDS packages can now be enriched with metadata and re-exported in the original package structure.
    • The import of iiRDS packages has been optimized.
  • New indicator types.
    • The previous indicators are divided into three new indicator types: Positive, Negative, and Neutral indicators.
    • All previous indicators are considered positive indicators and continue to behave the same way (additional points for each indicator in the rule-based allocation).
    • Negative indicators are created preceded by - and are assigned the symbol (deducted points in rule-based allocation).
    • Neutral indicators are created prefixed with # and get the symbol (one-time additional points in rule-based allocation).
  • Optimized Project Settings Menu.
    • Project settings menu ( button in the top left corner of an open project) has been revised.
    • Project status and project defaults are now displayed in addition to project name and visibility and workflow settings.
    • Project defaults can now be easily changed or added in active projects.
  • Show validation report for file formats.
    • If validation fails for a file format, a dialog with details can now be displayed.
    • VDI 2770 packages are validated on import and validation information is output in the report.
    • Validation information for PDF/A files can also be displayed in the dialog.

Enterprise & Global

  • User for branding settings.
    • Branding of public workflows is now possible via an interface in the rights management.
    • Colors, logos, and labels can now be conveniently specified via input fields.
    • The view is disabled by default and can be unlocked on request.

Other

  • Some functions related to object filtering have been removed (main view objects: Filtering by projects, Filtering by properties, Object counter in object type filter).
  • Removed the option to show/hide the file preview (now always active).
  • Extractors can now also be applied to other metadata (prerequisite is the “Source for metadata recognition” system role).
  • Multi-part indicators can now also be used.
  • Improved fuzzy matching now also considers case variants.

Bug

  • A bug that set projects to status “Closed” (instead of “Finished”) after a workflow was completed has been fixed.
  • A display error in the HTML preview, related to hyperlinks, has been fixed.
  • An error in the generation of VDI 2770 containers has been fixed (“Invalid character”).
  • Excel import has been optimized to ignore invalid characters.
  • Fixed an error that occurred in the Firefox browser during metadata re-detection.
